Marcel Verhoeff awarded the ‘Rus Prix Award 2012
As the manager of the renowned Dutch chief conductor Marcel Verhoeff, I’m proud to share with you some exiting news. On June 1st Marcel will, as a tribute to him promoting Russian music in Russia and abroad, be awarded the ‘Rus Prix Award 2012’ by none other than Mr. H. E. Mikhail Shvydkoy, special envoy of the President of the Russian Federation.
Marcel Vehoeff is known for his passion for music and his constant pursuit of perfection. Recognized as one of the leading conductors in the field of Russian music since 1990, he’s also the long-standing chief conductor of the world famous professional ‘Don KosakenChor Russland.’
The festive gala event on June 1st will also be dedicated and be the perfect start of to ‘The Netherlands – Russia Year 2013’. The upcoming tour 2012/2013 of the choir & ensemble may be regarded as one of the major components of this year. With over 50 concerts - including approximately 40 performances in The Netherlands and Belgium - this tour is a fitting way to enter this very special year.
Throughout ‘The Netherlands – Russia Year’ Marcel Verhoeff and his choir & ensemble intend to play an important role inside and outside Russia. A number of very appealing projects are being considered, such as large outdoor musical cross over events in Moscow and St. Petersburg and a cultural and economic exchange during a very special voyage on the Trans Siberia Express.
Should you be interested, we will gladly keep you informed of all the developments.
Warm regards,
Anne Frankenhuis,
